OEC in Belgium

Pray for God’s grace and blessing on the Outreach English Camp (OEC) in Belgium April 2-10. Pray for ReachGlobal personnel leading this camp and for the team of six coming from Hastings, NE, who will be teaching English to 29 Flemish campers, 11 of whom are joining OEC for the first time. Pray for receptive hearts as many of the campers come from a non-church background.

Urgent prayer for team in Turkey

Pray for our team in Turkey. The police have come to their legally-owned business and are saying that they intend to shut it down. This business is what gives our workers legitimacy with the local people, and the building it's in is used for many ministry purposes. In addition, there is a question as to what this may mean for their residency permits. The team is not afraid because they know the Lord is in control. Please pray that His perfect plan would unfold in this delicate situation.

Interpret a Cross-Cultural Identity

Pray for Beth, the daughter of Steve and Joan, ReachGlobal personnel, who will be giving two seminars tomorrow at the Families in Global Transition Conference in Alexandria, VA. Beth will present and discuss how her own paintings and other visual imagery have helped her sort through issues of being a third culture kid (TCK). Pray that God would give her the grace and strength she will need to communicate in a helpful way.

Speaking engagements in the Philippines

Pray for strength and safe travels for Aryls, ReachGlobal personnel in the Philippines. She is scheduled to speak three times in the next 10 days at a graduation and pastors’ wives’ fellowships in Butuan, Panabo, and Davao. Pray that she will be clear in her presentations as she speaks in Cebuano and English. Pray that she will be sensitive to the pastors’ wives and be an encouragement to them.

Surgery today

Pray for Mike, ReachGlobal personnel in Kandern, Germany, who is undergoing sinus surgery today. Pray for skillful hands of the medical team, for protection from infection and complications, for rapid and complete recovery.

Urgent health concern

Pray for the recovery of several of the ReachGlobal LeadTeam participants taken sick with severe cough, fever, and congestion at the meetings in Asia last week. Pray that complications don’t arise, for renewed energy, and for a rapid and complete recovery. 

Expansion of God's Kingdom

Pray for Linda and her colleague Marilyn, ReachGlobal personnel with EFCA EQUIP, attending two conventions, Christians in English Language Teaching (CELT), and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), in Philadelphia this week. These are opportunities to network and learn from other specialists who write the textbooks or who teach English around the world. Pray for valuable connections and conversations. TESOL offers hundreds of seminars, workshops, and sessions. Ask for God’s guidance in choosing the best ones to facilitate the expansion of God’s Kingdom.

Service Emphasis Week at HOPAC

Pray for Gil, ReachGlobal personnel at Haven of Peace Academy in Tanzania, who is leading a team of 12 students for Service Emphasis Week to serve at an orphanage in another town. Pray for a great time of leadership and service development in these students as they serve at Agape Children’s Village. Pray as well as for the 19 other teams from HOPAC spread out over Tanzania for the next six days. Ask God to put a vision for the gospel, compassion, and justice in the hearts of the students as a result of these wonderful experiences.

Pastoral training

Pray for stamina and protection for Al and Edie, ReachGlobal director of pastoral training, during their heavy travel schedule the next two months. Pray that they will make strategic connections with the right people to advance training in numerous places around the world. Pray that they will stay healthy, flexible, and trusting in the Lord during the challenges that come, and that they can be an encouragement to everyone they meet.

Teaching and Discipling

Pray for Phil and Cindy, ReachGlobal personnel in Belgium, who teach and disciple students studying at the Evangelical Theological Seminary (ETF) to prepare for future ministry in Belgium or abroad. Pray for wisdom and understanding for these students being equipped and trained so they will know how to share the gospel wherever the Lord leads them. Also, pray for Phil and Cindy as they lead English Camps which are instrumental in some ETF students coming to know the Lord in their teenage years through camp, then after high school come to ETF to learn more of the Bible and theology.

ReachGlobal Leadership Meetings

Continue to pray for the ReachGlobal LeadTeam meetings this week that the leadership would have good interaction with one another, that the discussions on key topics would be fruitful and empowering for the development of global ministry, and that God would do above and beyond what we ask or imagine and be glorified in all that is done for His Kingdom.

Training for business platform

Pray for Mark, ReachGlobal personnel, as he helps to develop and implement seminars for training global Christian workers start small businesses. A business platform enables Christian workers to circulate among unreached people groups, develop relationships and share the gospel. Pray for endurance and effective ministry for Mark as he participates in upcoming training seminars in India and East Africa.

LeadTeam meetings

Pray for the ReachGlobal LeadTeam meetings March 18-25. This is a large leadership consultation that is held every two years for training, alignment, networking and vision casting. Ask God to protect the time as they sharpen ReachGlobal’s vision, strategize, and work toward greater effectiveness. Pray for God’s blessing on each participant during the day of fasting and prayer on March 18.

Unjustly accused

Pray for an Asian Christian man who was unjustly accused of a crime 11 years ago and is on death row. Able to speak five languages, he has been winning people to Christ in the maximum security prison in a creative access area. His wife is raising their two children and does some sewing for ReachGlobal personnel. Pray for God’s grace and mercy in this situation so he will be set free and reunited with his family in April when his appeal is finally processed.

Developing a new curriculum

Pray for Mary, ReachGlobal personnel in Macau, who is developing a new curriculum for the children’s ministry at Merciful Love Family Fellowship (MLFF). Ask God to give her wisdom and creativity as she gathers material which she will need to translate and adapt for the launch of this new stage in MLFF’s development.

Leadership training camp

Pray for Dave, Innsbruck City Leader, who will be running a ministry leadership training camp for youth/young adults during the week before Easter. Pray that the Lord will do mighty things among all those He brings to the evangelism training. Pray, also, for the people they will be reaching out to during the on-the-job training in the city of Kufstein.

Women's retreat in Sumatra

Pray for Carol, ReachGlobal personnel in the Asia Division, and Jeanne, pastor’s wife from an EFCA church in Utah, as they conduct a women's retreat in Sumatra March 13-16. Pray that their ministry will strengthen and bring encouragement to the wives of national church planters.

Anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami

Pray for ReachGlobal personnel in Japan who are reaching out to the survivors on the one-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami. Pray for the disaster anniversary event March 11, as the Billy Graham Association holds a memorial service on site for the many who are still recovering. Many survivors will be grieving afresh and need God’s comfort, hope and salvation.

EFCA EQUIP courses

Pray for Linda, ReachGlobal personnel on the EFCA EQUIP team, who is assisting with facilitation of a course on training others to facilitate and equipping them for ministry. She is also working with two colleagues to develop another course to help missionaries be more effective in ministry. Ask God to give her insight as she is assists individuals and churches preparing for summer short-term ministries, helping them plan for materials, English curriculum, and training.

School ministry in Rio

Pray for God’s blessing on the school ministry Jeff and Diane, ReachGlobal personnel in Brazil, have in Rio. God is using them to reach out to the children attending schools in the poor areas of this city. In one such community, only a few blocks from their house, is a school where they haven’t had any “open doors” until now. The school has a new director, who by God’s grace, is the director from a school Jeff and Diane served at before. Pray that this connection will give them access into this school so they can minister to the students.

Hungary Summit in Budapest

Pray for safe travels and good health for the group of people from partner U.S. churches attending the Hungary Summit in Budapest March 7-12. Ask God’s blessing on the participants and the Budapest City Team during the times together worshiping, planning, and participating in ministry opportunities.

Potential church plant in Lyon

Pray for Mike and Caryn, ReachGlobal personnel in France, that they will continue to have good contacts with neighbors and families from their children’s schools. Pray for Caryn who is discipling a woman and seeing her grow in her faith. Pray that that these contacts and others like them would lead to discipleship and the formation of a core group to start a home group.

Pastors Wives Fellowship in Philippines

Pray for wisdom and guidance for Arlys, ReachGlobal personnel in the Philippines, as she speaks to the Crossroads EFC women's fellowship on Saturday morning, March 3, and then at the Pastors Wives Fellowship in the afternoon. Pray that God’s Spirit will communicate to the women to encourage them and help them develop more of a love relationship with God. Pray that Arlys will be able to have personal visits with several of the pastors’ wives during her time in Manila.

Mentoring students

Pray that the Lord would use Gary, ReachGlobal personnel in Lisbon, to impart a love for the Word of God to the students he teaches at the Portuguese Bible Institute. Pray also for wisdom and discernment as he mentors two students that God break down the negative strongholds in their lives.
