FISHing Expedition Workshop

Pray for Steve, ReachGlobal personnel in Canada, who conducts workshops called "FISHing Expedition," a hands-on learning experience to help people better understand and apply the Bible to their lives. Pray for Steve as he works with a French-Canadian pastor to prepare for their first bilingual Montreal "Expedition" workshop on March 3.

Conference on human trafficking

Pray for Mike, ReachGlobal personnel in France, along with Hope Alliance as they co-sponsor a conference in Lyon in November to sensitize local churches to the problem of human trafficking and sex trade with the hope of developing the network on a national level. Pray for divine appointments for Mike and the team on their next outing of street visits Wednesday evening February 29.

Consulting with missionary families

Pray for Dennis, ReachGlobal personnel on the Kyiv City Team, who is consulting and testing the families attending the conference for missionary children’s education in Sopron, Hungary February 26–March 2. Following this conference, Dennis is meeting with the dean of the psychology faculty at Christian Open University of Economics and Humanitarian Sciences in Odessa, Ukraine. Pray for God’s blessing as he explores the possibility of the staff in Kiev teaching at this university, which is accredited and has a degree program in Christian counseling.

Reaching French young adults

Pray for wisdom for Jonah, ReachGlobal personnel in Lyon, France, who helps lead a Bible study for a group of English-speaking young adults. Pray that this opportunity of study will lead them deeper into the Word of God and their relationship with Him. Pray for God’s blessing on the French young adults group that meets in Jonah and Amy’s home and the new believers in this group that are eager to grow in their faith.

Café COEN in Japan

Café COEN (Connect through English) in Sapporo, Japan is a place where Mark, Athlee and their team provide a setting to connect with people so that they can connect them to Christ. Recently, another local once-a-week staff member left so that has put a heavier workload on other café workers. Pray for wisdom for the café manager as she considers asking more people to work once-a-week in exchange for free English classes. Pray that God will send the right local workers to the café so that it will continue to be a place to develop healthy connections in the community.

Translating Bible stories

Pray for the translation of Bible stories into several languages of hard-to-reach people groups that will be used in the women’s English classes in the United Kingdom. Pray that all the recordings will go well, and for God to use the project and the classes to reach many women from with the gospel.

Teaching in Cebu

Pray for Ernie, ReachGlobal personnel on the EQUIP Team, who is teaching two master’s degree classes in theology at Cebu Graduate School of Theology in the Philippines. Ask the Lord to give him stamina and effective communication during this heavy teaching load. Pray for perseverance and energy for the students who also have responsibilities of family and jobs.

Ministries in Honduras

Pray for Roberto and Robin, ReachGlobal personnel in Honduras, who are involved in leading discipleship groups and a Biblical finance class at the church. As they lead several ministry partnership meetings with groups that are involved in various types of ministries, ask God to give them discernment and wisdom. Pray for clarity and insight as they review projects that align with mission goals and seek God’s leading in the projects that will bring Him glory.

Health concern

Pray for Alyssa, ReachGlobal personnel in Tanzania, who has been having arthritic symptoms in her hands that has been debilitating for her. After consulting doctors in Tanzania with no further answers, Alyssa is looking into finding doctors in South Africa, Kenya, or the U.S. who can help her. Pray for wisdom and guidance for Alyssa and husband Mark as to the best course of action in this situation. Pray for healing, strength and peace that God may be lifted up and exalted in this experience.

Bible study for students

Pray for wisdom for Lauren, ReachGlobal personnel at Haven of Peace Academy in Tanzania, who leads a group of 12th grade girls in a Bible study on Fridays. Pray for good interaction and opportunities for significant investment in their lives as these girls start thinking toward the future.

Ministries in the Philippines

Pray for the ministries Vance and Carol, ReachGlobal personnel, are involved in the Philippines. Ask God to continue to bless the Sunday school that has an attendance of 95 children and moms. Pray for a heart change in the parents of those children not permitted to attend. Pray for Vance as he encourages and generates interest among the men to restart the men's Bible study.

Ministry partners in Ethiopia

Pray for Kevin, ReachGlobal International Leader for Africa, who is visiting ministry partners in Ethiopia. Pray that the contacts he makes will open many doors for future ministry and that God will guide him to make connections with the potential ministry partners He would have ReachGlobal work with there.

Medical mission team

Pray for Omar as he spends 10 days in Cartagena, Colombia helping a medical mission team from an EFCA church in Wisconsin minister with our Colombian partners. While the patients are being seen by the medical staff, our Colombian brethren will have the opportunity to speak to the more than 1,500 people who come through about the Lord and to pray for them. In the evenings, there will be opportunities for the doctors to give medical lectures and hands on demonstrations of  medical techniques to students and doctors at one of the local hospitals. Ask God to bless this opportunity to share the gospel to the professional community in Cartagena. Pray for open hearts on behalf of those who will be listening to the gospel and for a harmonious and unified ministry team.

Training short-term team

Pray for wisdom and clarity for Gary and Marilyn, ReachGlobal personnel with EQUIP, training a short-term team in Hastings, NE, February 10-12. They are preparing the team for English ministry in Belgium this April. Pray that the ministries of the team will be a strategic relationship-building and discipleship time. Ask God to prepare the hearts of the people the team will minister to as the seed of the gospel is planted.

ICSB basketball tournament

Pray for the International Christian School of Budapest’s basketball tournament February 9-11, that Christ would be honored in all that is done. There are several secular international schools coming and many international parents from the ICSB school community. Pray that the ICSB players and students will glorify God during this tournament and that lives will be changed as the school has seen happen in the past.

Training in Puebla, MX

Thank you for praying for the training opportunity Mark, Enrique, and Mery had in Puebla, Mexico January 2-4, at UMAD (the University of Madero). They were able to introduce 22 Mexican university professors to the basics of distance education and how to teach online. ProMETA has a partnership with UMAD and they are beginning to introduce ProMETA’s courses in their program. Pray that God would prosper this relationship and that ProMETA will receive accreditation for its program through this University’s accredited status with the Mexican government.

Student ministry in Poland

Pray for wisdom and openness for Loren and Christina, ReachGlobal personnel in Poland, as they mentor college students and build relationships with new families from their son’s school. Praise God for the growth they are seeing in the international group meeting in their home but please pray for guidance as they look for a new location with more space.

Winter REV event

Pray for the Readiness Event (REV) for missionary candidates at the EFCA national office February 4-10. Pray for the 10 candidates attending this key event who are away from their jobs, ministries, families, and responsibilities to focus and discern the Holy Spirit’s leading. Pray for physical, emotional and spiritual stamina for the attendees and ReachGlobal staff involved in REV.  

Seminar on Human Trafficking

Pray for a positive response from believers in Rome to the seminar, Confronting the Reality of Sex Trafficking, that Brian and Sarah, ReachGlobal personnel, are holding on February 4. Pray that God will use this to create awareness and to form a coalition of like-minded believers across the city and in other urban centers of Italy. Pray that Brian and Sarah will be faithful to God’s purposes revealed in His Word, rely on the Holy Spirit, and trust in the power of the gospel to transform broken lives.

Debriefing Event for RG Personnel

Today and tomorrow a group of ReachGlobal missionaries on home assignment are attending Debriefing at the national office. Ask God to give the ENHANCE Team wisdom and discernment as they listen, shoulder burdens, offer perspective, and talk through possible solutions. Pray for a time of encouragement and spiritual vitality for the missionaries as the ENHANCE Team provides care, team building and resources to help them be healthy and effective in their ministries.

Health concern

Pray for Carol, ReachGlobal personnel, who is undergoing an angiogram February 2, because of experiencing chest pains for the past two weeks. Pray for skilful hands of the medical team as the cardiologist may need to do a balloon or put in a stent. Pray for rapid and complete recovery so Carol will be well enough to travel to a region in Asia on March 2, where she is to speak at two women’s retreats.
