Teaching English in Czech Republic

Pray for God’s continued inspiration, creativity, and wisdom for Sheryll, ReachGlobal personnel in the Czech Republic, as she prepares for the Horni Pocernice English classes this fall. Pray for the students as they respond to challenges that stretch their faith and trust.

Translation of CHE materials

Pray for the translation of CHE (Community Health Education) materials into Bengali and for the CHE trainer and coordinator in West Bengal who facilitates the translation. CHE is one of the strategies being implemented in prevention of trafficking in West Bengal and these materials are essential.

Theological and vocational training

Pray for wisdom and discernment for Dave and Gloria as they serve in theological and vocational training of students in Thailand. Pray that God will bring students with prepared hearts that are able to grow in their understanding of God’s Word and faithfully serve Him through the vocational training they receive.

Training Latinos for missionary service

Pray for the ministry of Ernest and Effie, ReachGlobal personnel in Venezuela, who are training Latinos missionary service. Pray for two of the candidates who went to Europe as they learn, adjust, and settle into ministry. Pray for another couple going to Paraguay to take further training in preparation for working with immigrants in English. Pray for these new missionaries as they begin to apply all they have been learning.

Students in CAR

Pray for the students from the Gamboula Bible School and Nursing School in the Central African Republic during their summer break before resuming classes in September. Ask God to provide the funds needed for their tuition and for health and safety as some travel many miles to visit their families.

Ramadan

Pray for the Muslim peoples during Ramadan July 20-August 18. Ask the Lord to open opportunities for spiritual conversations with neighbors and friends of ReachGlobal personnel. Pray that they will be able to hear the truth of the gospel during this spiritual season. Pray that the male spiritual leaders will hear of the love of Jesus and willingly teach others to follow Him.

Mentoring ministry partners in Africa

Pray that Kevin, ReachGlobal Africa International leader, will have wisdom and clarity on how to effectively to come alongside key African national ministry partners to mentor them as leaders and to help them clarify their ministry values as they plan for the future.

Serve the Church outreach in Brussels

Pray for Olivier who is heading up Serve the Church outreach July 18-28, in Brussels. There are 15 team members from three different U.S. churches joining with Belgians to work together on ministries geared to help others involved in inner-city children’s street ministry and construction projects. Ask God’s blessing on this initiative to be an encouragement to all of the participants.

90 day missions internship in Brazil

Pray for wisdom and clarity as Craig, Ale, Jeff, and Diane, ReachGlobal personnel in Brazil, work with a group of college students from the Czech Republic, England, and Brazil for a 90 day missions internship. The students will participate in a mentoring/discipleship process, plan and administrate a field project and be involved in other ministry opportunities. Ask God to teach them those lessons that will deepen their faith and heart for missions.

English Camp in Tanzania

Pray for English Camp II starting today in Tanzania. Ask God to give the leaders stamina, energy, health, and perseverance needed for a full week of teaching. Pray for connections with the students from this school that will encourage attendance at the Friday Club in September. Pray that God would be honored and glorified during this week of camp.

CAMPS ReachGlobal

Pray for the CAMPS ReachGlobal camps being held in Canada and Austria during July and August. Pray for God to empower our ReachGlobal staff as they lead the camps. Pray that the campers who attend will become devoted followers of Christ and grow in their walk with Him.

English Outreach Day Camps in Tanzania

Pray for God’s blessing on the English Outreach Day Camps July 10-18, in Tanzania. Pray that ReachGlobal personnel who make up the student ministries team and the ministry team from California will be obedient, learning, and loving servants of God to the students. Pray that the Holy Spirit will show the students, as they hear the teaching of His Word, their need of a loving Savior. Pray for continued favor with school administration and communities.

Ministry partners in Cuba

Praise for the significant conversations and an official meeting with two of the Cuban denomination’s vice presidents that Keith, Clyde, and Rebecca, ReachGlobal personnel in Latin America, had which resulted in partnership ministry proposals. Pray for the president of the denomination in Cuba with whom ReachGlobal may partner who is in Costa Rica this week. Ask God to give the leaders wisdom and guidance in the next steps to a relationship with the Cuban churches.

Debriefing Event for RG Personnel

Pray for ReachGlobal personnel on home assignment attending the Debriefing event at the national office July 10-11. Pray this time will provide good opportunity for reflection, evaluation, and refreshment. Pray for the ENHANCE Team as they listen, encourage, and minister to the participants.

MK Re-Entry Camp

Pray for wisdom and creativity for Heidi, ReachGlobal ENHANCE team member, who is leading the MK Re-Entry Camp in Minneapolis July 9-14, for teens on home assignment. Pray this week will be an encouraging relationship-building time. Pray for good weather for the outside activities and protection from accidents and sickness.

Pray for the ENHANCE team (member care and development) as they gather from many parts of the globe for planning, equipping, fellowship, and prayer in Minneapolis July 7-9. Pray for fruitful, encouraging, and productive meetings.

Outreach event in Japan

Pray for Athlee, ReachGlobal personnel in Japan, who is hosting a BBQ get-together for her English students and their parents on July 8. Pray that God will lead in this outreach event so a sense of community will open the way for life talks and interest in the Bible.

Short-term English teaching teams

Pray for the need for short-term English teaching teams to partner with ReachGlobal personnel, Steve, Carol, and Betty in Dar es Salaam this September and November. Ask God to put this on the hearts of individuals and churches, and to supply their financial needs for coming to Tanzania.

English/sports camp in Poland

Pray for a ministry team from Fellowship Church in Knoxville, TN, that is leading an English/sports camp for middle-school students in Poland. Ask God to give clarity and understanding to the team as the youth from the Polish church in Szczecin help with translating and other activities. The camp’s purpose is to share Christ with Polish children while developing leadership in the youth from the Szczecin church.

Training of Master Trainers in Africa

Pray for David K., Selenga and Gene W. as they conduct the training for the Training of Master Trainers for West Africa in Monrovia, Liberia July 2-6 and for East Africa in Kinshasa July 8-11. Trainers from 8-10 countries will be participating in this training to equip them for church development. Pray for God’s provision for scholarships for each one to get there.

Ministering in Mexico City

Pray for Barry and Karla, ReachGlobal personnel in Mexico, as they settle in their new location. Ask God to open opportunities for developing significant relationships with their landlord, neighbors, and others in the community so that they can share the gospel.

Building project in Tunisia

Pray for Lonnie, ReachGlobal personnel in France, and the construction team from the Merlan Church in Marseille who are in Tunisia putting up a building for the Center for the Handicapped. Pray for strength, good health, and safety. Pray the team will be a light for the good news of Jesus Christ and have opportunities to share the gospel with the Tunisians working with them.

Ministry to expectant mothers

Pray for Cherry, ReachGlobal personnel in Venezuela, who is involved in their church’s ministry with expectant mothers. Pray that God will grant wisdom as this ministry seeks to expand and needs more workers to help staff the ministry alongside Cherry and Janet. Pray that the mothers who attend will be blessed through the fellowship, counsel, and information offered.

Church Planting Network in Lisbon

Pray for Jonathan, ReachGlobal personnel in Portugal, who is meeting this week with other missionaries and Portuguese pastors to discuss the possibility of creating a network of church planters who work in the greater Lisbon area. Pray for this meeting to bear fruit in the months that follow and help jump-start the process of a church planting movement.

English classes in Czech Republic

Pray for Sheryll, ReachGlobal personnel in the Czech Republic, as she hosts the end‐of‐the‐school year party for the Horni Pocernice English classes. Each student will receive a CD with the Czech New Testament, read by professional actors, as a gift for the summer. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in these student’s lives as they listen to God’s Word.

Strategic ministries in Sudan

Pray for Merle and Tony, ReachGlobal personnel, who are in South Sudan June 19-30, attending the Evangelical Free Church of South Sudan (EFCSS) Pastor’s Conference and to discuss future plans of leadership training and holistic ministries. They will also observe the Community Health Evangelism (CHE) programs and Seed Bank projects in several areas. Pray for wisdom and unity in discussions of partnerships and how ReachGlobal can assist EFCSS in future growth. Pray for safety while traveling on rough and isolated roads. Pray for the success of the seed banks that will provide food during periodic spells of famine.

Caring for Costa Rica personnel

Pray for good health and stamina for George and Donna, ENHANCE (care) Team, who are in Costa Rica June 15-26. Pray that God will give them insight, discernment, and guidance as they encourage the ReachGlobal personnel.

Multiplying Churches Globally training

Pray for the group of 40 ReachGlobal staff and guests attending Multiplying Churches Globally training at South Suburban EFC in Apple Valley, MN June 19-22. The goal of this event is to help participants understand their role and best practices in cross-cultural church multiplication. Pray for focus, for spiritual preparation, and receptivity for the facilitators and participants. Pray for wisdom and strength for ReachGlobal staff Mark, Julie, Tim, Sam, Craig O., Gene W., Mike G., Mark L., David E., and Ted S.  They are working in conjunction with SEND international to provide this training and several SEND staff are participating. Pray that this event would prepare missionaries well for their first steps in contributing to the spread of God’s church globally.

Kingdom Expansion 101 course

Pray for a good class of participants for the online course Kingdom Expansion 101. Registration is now open and will be facilitated by Linda, EFCA EQUIP Team, from July 11 to August 21. Ask God to help them learn together and grow in their knowledge and understanding.

Need for teachers at RFIS

Pray for the urgent need for high school teachers at Rain Forest International School in Cameroon for the 2012-2013 school year. The school also serves missionary children, other expatriates, and national communities. All instruction is in English.

Need of God’s protection

Pray for God’s protection to surround the Flemish spiritual leaders and their families in Belgium. Pray that the gospel work will not be weakened or destroyed. Ask God to strengthen them with His power so they have great endurance and patience.

Summer ministry and outreach in Hungary

Pray for strength, stamina, and wisdom for Brad and Kari, ReachGlobal personnel in Hungary, as they have a full summer of directing the English Camps, mobilizing volunteer translators and helpers, as well as hosting teaching teams from St. Peters and Chicago. Prayer Network

Pray for 2Him4Them (Justice Initiatives Prayer Network) prayer groups and the leaders. New 2Him4Them leaders are working on forming new prayer groups in five different locations and churches. Pray for the hearts of the leaders and all of us praying against human trafficking to be strengthened in this battle.

Camping ministry in Liberia

Pray for Tara, director of CAMPS ReachGlobal, traveling to Liberia June 10-18. Ask God to fill Tara with wisdom and knowledge as she works with the leaders of ReachAfrica to set the ground work for a camping ministry in Liberia to further His Kingdom.

Ministry to Students

Pray for wisdom for Charles, ReachGlobal personnel in Poland, who has a ministry with university students in Lodz. New students attend every week and Charles’ goal is to equip them to reach out to other students using simple methods. All of the students speak Russian as their first language and Polish as their second language so they read the Scriptures in both Polish and Russian. Pray for boldness and understanding for the students who take the lead in the discussions. Pray that more students would trust in Jesus and follow Him as Lord.

Ministry in India

Pray for health, strength, and priority setting for Sharon, leader of Justice Initiatives, as she travels to India tomorrow for five weeks of ministry. Pray that all the details she worked on preparing for the time in India will be accomplished according to God’s purposes.

Meetings in Haiti

Pray for God’s grace on the meetings in Haiti this week with TouchGlobal, ReachGlobal Latin America/Caribbean, several Haitian partners and two U.S. churches to do initial planning for launching GlobalFingerprints in Haiti. Pray for sensitivity to God's leading and good fellowship.

Multiplication Church Planting Training

Pray for David K., ReachAfrica Church Planting Director, who is conducting the Multiplication Church Planting training in Mozambique May 30-June 7. Ask the Lord for protection, safe travel, stamina, blessing, and power in his teaching. This is ReachAfrica’s first ministry opportunity in one of the Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa. Pray that the Lord will use this training to equip many church planters to start churches in communities that do not have a gospel witness.

Ministry retreat in Sarajevo

Pray for Larry and Jill, ReachGlobal personnel in Sarajevo, as they plan and prepare the logistical details for the second annual network camp/retreat to be held near Sarajevo the second week of June. Pray that this relationship development and teaching time will bring glory to God. Ask the Lord to bless them with good weather for this outdoor event.

Pray for the ReachGlobal Europe leadership team as they meet to determine the key roles they will play in ReachGlobal ministry in Berlin. Ask God to bless this time of bringing extra resource and attention to a key city ministry in Europe that the team believes will result in helping all of the ReachGlobal ministries in Europe. Kingdom Expansion 101 course

Pray for the participants taking the online course Kingdom Expansion 101 that begins May 30 for the next six weeks. Pray for wisdom and clear teaching for Linda, EFCA EQUIP, as she facilitates the course. Ask God to encourage and challenge each participant in outreach, both locally and around the world.

Short-term teams in Congo

Over the course of the next month, there will be numerous short-term teams traveling to Congo focusing on the medical work, GlobalFingerprints and other key partnerships. Pray for the Congolese host team as they care for the people on these teams doing ministry.

Elikya Center in Congo

Pray for ReachGlobal personnel, Sam, Sarah, Aaron, and Michelle as they complete their responsibilities at the Elikya Center in Congo. Pray that the training of the hospitality team who will host short-term teams coming to the Center will go well and that the team will be well-equipped to handle every aspect of the job.

Personnel team planning retreat

Pray for the Personnel team retreat May 24-25 in the Twin Cities area. The leaders of EQUIP, ENHANCE, ENGAGE, and Transitions are meeting together for updating and planning. Pray that the Lord will give them guidance in the areas where they can most effectively provide encouragement and equip ReachGlobal missionaries for healthy ministries.

Connect through English

Pray for Mark and Athlee, ReachGlobal personnel in Japan, and for the staff as they relate to all the people who come through Café COEN (connect through English) doors during the week. Many of them come with needs or are just lonely. Pray that God will help the staff to share His love with them in the best way possible.

Debriefing Event for RG Personnel

Pray that the group of 31 ReachGlobal U.S. based staff attending Debriefing May 22-23, at the national office will be encouraged and challenged in their ministries. Pray for wisdom for Lois, director of the ENHANCE team, as she and leadership staff from the ENHANCE, Personnel, ENGAGE, and EQUIP teams listen, minister, and provide resources to all the participants.

TREK7 to India

Today and tomorrow the team participating in TREK7, an intensive summer outreach program designed to mobilize students for ministry to some of the most remote and unreached people groups in the world, is in training for ministry in India for five weeks this summer. Pray for Dave, ReachGlobal Director of Recruitment, who is training and leading this team of seven college students. Pray for God’s blessing on their training and ministry with Mukti Project and GlobalFingerprints.

European Leadership Forum in Budapest

Pray for sharpening conversations and learning experiences at the European Leadership Forum in Budapest May 18-24. Pray for God’s Spirit to lead Ritch, Mike, and Jay, ReachGlobal Europe area personnel, as they seek His leading for developing European church planters.

GlobalFingerprints

Pray for God’s blessing on GlobalFingerprints U.S. staff Karen, Ben, and Rachel who are in Congo May 17 to June 5. Pray for the meetings with the Congolese staff and as they capture stories, pictures, and video to share the significant difference GlobalFingerprints child sponsorships are making in the life of each orphan.

Weekend of fellowship and Bible study

Pray for the Toulouse City Team taking a group of people to Biarritz, a seaside town in France, for a time of fellowship and Bible study May 17-20. Pray for this group (Christians and non-Christians) who are attending the retreat that the team may have the opportunity to deepen relationships with them and bring them closer to understanding the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus.

Candidates preparing for ministry

Pray for the process of four candidate couples raising support and preparing to go to the Middle East/North Africa. Ask God for their vision to grow as they see Him provide all their needs from day to day as well as the future.

Pray for the EFCA EQUIP team meeting in Wisconsin May 14-18, for its working/team-building retreat. Ask the Lord to bless and encourage them in their prayer time, team dynamics, and ministry focus. PBI recruiting event

Pray for Open House Day, a public relations and recruiting event, at the Portugal Bible Institute on May 12. Gary and Terri, ReachGlobal personnel in Lisbon, are encouraging recent graduates and current students to invite young people from their churches. Pray for a good number of young people and especially for potential students with whom they can follow-up.

Teaching English in Tanzania

Pray for Bill and Marilyn, short-term workers who are teaching English and assisting Steve and Carol, ReachGlobal personnel, with their ministry in Tanzania for six weeks. Pray that God will give them health, energy, and joy in their work.

Teaching missions course

Pray for Mark and Jan as they teach a missions course at NorthCreek Church in California today. They will be presenting strategies for reaching people for Christ in creative access countries. Pray that those attending will be challenged and encouraged.

SERVEurope Planning Meetings

Pray for wisdom and the leading of the Spirit for the ReachGlobal SERVEurope team in Budapest, Hungary during their planning meetings May 7-11.  Pray for a God-centered time of focus and direction as this service-oriented team maps out goals for the next three years so they can better serve ReachGlobal personnel in Europe.

New church plant initiative in Belgium

Pray for the new church plant initiative “CityLifeLeuven” in Belgium preparing to host two events designed for and by students, including the students from Evangelical Faculty of Theology. The first event on May 8 covers the topic of Finding Peace in the Midst of Pain and Suffering. The second event, Don’t Waste Your Life, is on May 22. Speaking engagements in Portugal

Pray for wisdom and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as Gary, ReachGlobal personnel in Portugal, prepares and delivers two messages at two local churches on May 6 and on May 20. Pray that he will encourage and speak with clarity as he ministers to the people in these congregations.

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance for people of all faiths designated by the United States Congress. May we humbly come before God today, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. Pray that our prayers today open doors for the Holy Spirit to spread the good news of the gospel. Pray that the ReachGlobal mission to glorify God by multiplying healthy churches among all people would be at the forefront of our global ministry. Pray that God would give us favor as we develop, empower, and release ReachGlobal personnel and national partners to impact 100 million people with the gospel over the next decade.

Men's ministry in Bulgaria

Pray for Dave’s ministry to a group of men in Bulgaria where Dave and Sasha serve. Pray that they would continue to open up to Dave and sincere friendships would develop. Pray also for opportunities to share the gospel and discuss spiritual issues. Dave and Sasha’s landlord is selling the house they rent so ask God to direct them to a new home before the end of May that is affordable and in a good location.

Professors receive training

Pray for Enrique, ReachGlobal personnel with ProMETA, along with another professor who are training 20 seminary professors in Cuba April 28-May 7. These professors, who also work as pastors in local congregations, come to Havana from different parts of the country. Pray for wisdom and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit so that the teaching is relevant and strategic for these brothers.

White Cross supplies

Pray for God’s blessing on the container of White Cross supplies that was scheduled to leave the U.S. Sunday, April 29. Pray for the safe journey and timely arrival of these needed supplies going up river on a barge to Gemena in the Congo.

Joshua Team meetings

Pray for the Joshua Team meetings April 28-May 2, in the Czech Republic that the church planters and their spouses would be encouraged by this learning community and strengthened. Ask God to multiply churches in this country for the spread of the gospel.

Teaching ministry in Venezuela

Pray for Ernest and Effie, ReachGlobal personnel in Venezuela, conducting a weekend of couple’s seminars April 26-29. Pray for safety and reliability for the mission pickup as they travel many hours to their destination. Pray that they will be vessels ready for God’s purposes with a gentle spirit and necessary strength.

Ministering in Costa Rica

Pray for wisdom for David and Angie, ReachGlobal personnel in Costa Rica, as they build relationships and seek out ministry opportunities that best suit their gifts. Pray that their relationship with the Lord would grow and their marriage would radiate the gospel.

Testing and Consulting Services

Pray for two ReachGlobal staff members from SHARE (educational services) in the Czech Republic who are in Germany to offer testing and consulting services to our families that minister on our U.S. military bases. Pray for these military families and those that seek to serve them during this stressful time as many of the service men are being deployed to Afghanistan this spring.

Africa Division Conference in Kenya

Pray for ReachGlobal Africa personnel, ReachGlobal leadership from the national office, and 15 African national partner leaders meeting at the Africa Division Conference in Kenya April 24-29. Pray for God to move powerfully in the hearts of everyone in attendance that the vision for the next 10 years of ministry in Africa would be embraced and there would be a commitment to work together. Also pray for the three days of training and networking for our African national partners following the conference.

Europe Women’s Conference in Spain

Pray for the ReachGlobal Europe Women’s Conference April 23-27 in Barcelona, Spain. Pray for safe travels and good health for all the participants. Pray that the women would be encouraged and strengthened through the ministry of First EFC Springfield and the ministry of Paula Rinehart, author of Strong Women, Soft Hearts. 

Spiritual Life Conference

Pray for George and Donna, ENHANCE team members, who are in San Jose, Costa Rica leading a spiritual life conference with the staff of ProMETA, the online theological training network. Pray that the Lord would minister to hearts during the retreat and use George and Donna as a blessing in the life of each person. Ask God to enable George and Donna to speak clearly and correctly in Spanish.

Heart surgery

Pray for Barb, ReachGlobal U.S. based personnel, as she undergoes a heart procedure (Transcatheter heart valve implantation) tomorrow, April 19. Pray for skilled hands of the medical team, for protection from infection and complications, for rapid and complete recovery.

Developing Healthy Missions Partnership

Pray for wisdom for Jerry, ReachGlobal personnel on the CONNECT team, as he helps facilitate the Healthy Missions Partnership course on April 18. Pray for those who have enrolled in this course to have clear insight and understanding so they can implement what they have learned into developing mission partnerships in their churches.

Repairs needed for the Evangelista

Pray with Blair and Joan, ReachGlobal personnel, that the necessary funds for repairs on the mission boat the Evangelista in Pucallpa will be raised. These repairs will enable the boat to travel faster and use less fuel. Also, with an increased cargo capacity the Evangelista should be able to pay for its own fuel, helping to make this ministry in the Amazon jungle more self-sustainable.

Update: Team in Turkey

Thank you for praying for our team in Turkey. God has answered your prayers in His sovereign grace and permitted the team to only receive a warning and not to lose their residency permits! Please continue to pray for the team as they now work to figure out how to legally own and operate their current business without work visas. They will be considering a wide range of options, so they're in great need of continued prayer for wisdom.

Teaching English classes in Japan

Pray for wisdom for Duane, ReachGlobal personnel in Japan, as he begins teaching a new term of English classes at Meinohama Christian Center on April 16. Ask God to bring more new students to replace those who are moving up to the elementary level. Ask the Holy Spirit to open opportunities for Duane to share the gospel with the students and that they will understand and be receptive.

Need for more workers

There is much Kingdom work to accomplish and ReachGlobal personnel are stretched thin because of the need for more workers. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they make monthly, weekly and daily decisions in organizing and setting priorities in their ministries. Pray that they will be wise stewards of their time. Also pray for God to raise up new personnel to be deployed globally with ReachGlobal.

Special prayer for Turkey

Tomorrow (Thursday) is a big day for the team in Turkey. Two of the three men must appear at the police station at 9:00 a.m. (2:00 a.m. Eastern time). They will either be given a warning or the police will start a process of revoking their residency permits. In the latter case, the team has been given legal advice that they have the right to counter with a lawsuit to try to stop this process. Thank you for your faithful prayers, and please continue to pray during this important time.

PT-Live training

Pray for stamina and effective learning for the missionary candidates involved in PT-Live (pre-field training) taking place in the Minneapolis area April 11-18. This training covers culture, worldview, theology, spiritual warfare, crisis management, and communication. Pray that these men and women will leave well-equipped to face the challenges of global missionary service. Perspectives Course at the EFCA national office

ReachGlobal is hosting a Perspectives Course at the EFCA national office in Minneapolis April 9-17. Pray for the EFCA church, mission and business leaders attending this week of peer-to-peer interaction guided by ten speakers who are knowledgeable in each of the fifteen live-sessions of the Perspectives course. Ask God to use this information as a catalyst to broaden the interest and involvement of the EFCA in world missions.

Annual conference at ETF in Belgium

Pray for the annual conference April 9-11, at the Evangelical Theological Faculty (ETF) seminary in Belgium. This conference is planned by the ETF students as a ministry to reach Flemish youth, ages 16-26. The topic is on the end times so pray for guidance and wisdom as the Scriptures are shared with the youth. Pray for Cindy, ReachGlobal personnel in Belgium, as she makes herself available to help the students if they need encouragement and comfort. Pray that all the visiting Flemish students will experience the love of the Lord through the interaction with faculty and students.

Jesus film

Pray for the worship time on Friday night at Nova Nada in Bosnia we will be showing The Story of Jesus for Children. It is the Jesus film told from the perspective of children seeing Jesus’ life and ministry. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reach hearts during this time and for salvation decisions to be made.

Easter weekend

Ask the Lord to bless the times of worship, communion, and prayer at the Good Friday and Easter services this weekend on all our mission fields. Pray for the outpouring of the Spirit on ReachGlobal personnel as they share the gospel to those He has placed around them. Pray for receptive and contrite hearts for those who hear the message of God’s love.

Open to the gospel

Pray for Jodi, ReachGlobal personnel in Budapest, in a budding relationship with a Hungarian friend who is seeking and open to the gospel. Pray for her friend to open up even more in her desire to have a true relationship with God. Pray that God would use Jodi and other believers in her life to show her that knowing Jesus personally can change her life.

English Classes and Easter Services

Pray for the number of people who will be coming to Café CoEn in Japan as new classes in English begin and to attend the Easter services. Pray for those who come to the Easter services and celebration on Saturday evening and Sunday morning that they will be touched by Jesus’ love through the story of his death and resurrection. Pray for wisdom and clarity as the ReachGlobal personnel teach the new English and Bible students.

Continue to prayer for team in Turkey

Please continue to pray for our team in Turkey.  The police have indeed shut down the building, at least for now.  But the even bigger prayer request is for our workers as they must appear before the police on Monday.  They don't know for sure what the reason is, but their concern is that it may relate to their residency permits.  Please pray that God would orchestrate the decisions of the local officials to bring glory to His great Name.  Also, please pray that our workers would be at peace and full of faith in the midst of this challenging situation.

Workers in CAC

Pray for ReachGlobal personnel ministering in creative access countries. We can't mention specifics about these workers and their ministries, but they are on the cutting edge. They need wisdom for sensitive ministries, spiritual protection and the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of those they work with, some of whom are very resistant to the gospel.

OEC in Belgium

Pray for God’s grace and blessing on the Outreach English Camp (OEC) in Belgium April 2-10. Pray for ReachGlobal personnel leading this camp and for the team of six coming from Hastings, NE, who will be teaching English to 29 Flemish campers, 11 of whom are joining OEC for the first time. Pray for receptive hearts as many of the campers come from a non-church background.

Urgent prayer for team in Turkey

Pray for our team in Turkey. The police have come to their legally-owned business and are saying that they intend to shut it down. This business is what gives our workers legitimacy with the local people, and the building it's in is used for many ministry purposes. In addition, there is a question as to what this may mean for their residency permits. The team is not afraid because they know the Lord is in control. Please pray that His perfect plan would unfold in this delicate situation.

Interpret a Cross-Cultural Identity

Pray for Beth, the daughter of Steve and Joan, ReachGlobal personnel, who will be giving two seminars tomorrow at the Families in Global Transition Conference in Alexandria, VA. Beth will present and discuss how her own paintings and other visual imagery have helped her sort through issues of being a third culture kid (TCK). Pray that God would give her the grace and strength she will need to communicate in a helpful way.

Speaking engagements in the Philippines

Pray for strength and safe travels for Aryls, ReachGlobal personnel in the Philippines. She is scheduled to speak three times in the next 10 days at a graduation and pastors’ wives’ fellowships in Butuan, Panabo, and Davao. Pray that she will be clear in her presentations as she speaks in Cebuano and English. Pray that she will be sensitive to the pastors’ wives and be an encouragement to them.

Surgery today

Pray for Mike, ReachGlobal personnel in Kandern, Germany, who is undergoing sinus surgery today. Pray for skillful hands of the medical team, for protection from infection and complications, for rapid and complete recovery.

Urgent health concern

Pray for the recovery of several of the ReachGlobal LeadTeam participants taken sick with severe cough, fever, and congestion at the meetings in Asia last week. Pray that complications don’t arise, for renewed energy, and for a rapid and complete recovery. 

Expansion of God's Kingdom

Pray for Linda and her colleague Marilyn, ReachGlobal personnel with EFCA EQUIP, attending two conventions, Christians in English Language Teaching (CELT), and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), in Philadelphia this week. These are opportunities to network and learn from other specialists who write the textbooks or who teach English around the world. Pray for valuable connections and conversations. TESOL offers hundreds of seminars, workshops, and sessions. Ask for God’s guidance in choosing the best ones to facilitate the expansion of God’s Kingdom.

Service Emphasis Week at HOPAC

Pray for Gil, ReachGlobal personnel at Haven of Peace Academy in Tanzania, who is leading a team of 12 students for Service Emphasis Week to serve at an orphanage in another town. Pray for a great time of leadership and service development in these students as they serve at Agape Children’s Village. Pray as well as for the 19 other teams from HOPAC spread out over Tanzania for the next six days. Ask God to put a vision for the gospel, compassion, and justice in the hearts of the students as a result of these wonderful experiences.

Pastoral training

Pray for stamina and protection for Al and Edie, ReachGlobal director of pastoral training, during their heavy travel schedule the next two months. Pray that they will make strategic connections with the right people to advance training in numerous places around the world. Pray that they will stay healthy, flexible, and trusting in the Lord during the challenges that come, and that they can be an encouragement to everyone they meet.

Teaching and Discipling

Pray for Phil and Cindy, ReachGlobal personnel in Belgium, who teach and disciple students studying at the Evangelical Theological Seminary (ETF) to prepare for future ministry in Belgium or abroad. Pray for wisdom and understanding for these students being equipped and trained so they will know how to share the gospel wherever the Lord leads them. Also, pray for Phil and Cindy as they lead English Camps which are instrumental in some ETF students coming to know the Lord in their teenage years through camp, then after high school come to ETF to learn more of the Bible and theology.

ReachGlobal Leadership Meetings

Continue to pray for the ReachGlobal LeadTeam meetings this week that the leadership would have good interaction with one another, that the discussions on key topics would be fruitful and empowering for the development of global ministry, and that God would do above and beyond what we ask or imagine and be glorified in all that is done for His Kingdom.

Training for business platform

Pray for Mark, ReachGlobal personnel, as he helps to develop and implement seminars for training global Christian workers start small businesses. A business platform enables Christian workers to circulate among unreached people groups, develop relationships and share the gospel. Pray for endurance and effective ministry for Mark as he participates in upcoming training seminars in India and East Africa.

LeadTeam meetings

Pray for the ReachGlobal LeadTeam meetings March 18-25. This is a large leadership consultation that is held every two years for training, alignment, networking and vision casting. Ask God to protect the time as they sharpen ReachGlobal’s vision, strategize, and work toward greater effectiveness. Pray for God’s blessing on each participant during the day of fasting and prayer on March 18.

Unjustly accused

Pray for an Asian Christian man who was unjustly accused of a crime 11 years ago and is on death row. Able to speak five languages, he has been winning people to Christ in the maximum security prison in a creative access area. His wife is raising their two children and does some sewing for ReachGlobal personnel. Pray for God’s grace and mercy in this situation so he will be set free and reunited with his family in April when his appeal is finally processed.

Developing a new curriculum

Pray for Mary, ReachGlobal personnel in Macau, who is developing a new curriculum for the children’s ministry at Merciful Love Family Fellowship (MLFF). Ask God to give her wisdom and creativity as she gathers material which she will need to translate and adapt for the launch of this new stage in MLFF’s development.

Leadership training camp

Pray for Dave, Innsbruck City Leader, who will be running a ministry leadership training camp for youth/young adults during the week before Easter. Pray that the Lord will do mighty things among all those He brings to the evangelism training. Pray, also, for the people they will be reaching out to during the on-the-job training in the city of Kufstein.

Women's retreat in Sumatra

Pray for Carol, ReachGlobal personnel in the Asia Division, and Jeanne, pastor’s wife from an EFCA church in Utah, as they conduct a women's retreat in Sumatra March 13-16. Pray that their ministry will strengthen and bring encouragement to the wives of national church planters.

Anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami

Pray for ReachGlobal personnel in Japan who are reaching out to the survivors on the one-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami. Pray for the disaster anniversary event March 11, as the Billy Graham Association holds a memorial service on site for the many who are still recovering. Many survivors will be grieving afresh and need God’s comfort, hope and salvation.

EFCA EQUIP courses

Pray for Linda, ReachGlobal personnel on the EFCA EQUIP team, who is assisting with facilitation of a course on training others to facilitate and equipping them for ministry. She is also working with two colleagues to develop another course to help missionaries be more effective in ministry. Ask God to give her insight as she is assists individuals and churches preparing for summer short-term ministries, helping them plan for materials, English curriculum, and training.

School ministry in Rio

Pray for God’s blessing on the school ministry Jeff and Diane, ReachGlobal personnel in Brazil, have in Rio. God is using them to reach out to the children attending schools in the poor areas of this city. In one such community, only a few blocks from their house, is a school where they haven’t had any “open doors” until now. The school has a new director, who by God’s grace, is the director from a school Jeff and Diane served at before. Pray that this connection will give them access into this school so they can minister to the students.

Hungary Summit in Budapest

Pray for safe travels and good health for the group of people from partner U.S. churches attending the Hungary Summit in Budapest March 7-12. Ask God’s blessing on the participants and the Budapest City Team during the times together worshiping, planning, and participating in ministry opportunities.

Potential church plant in Lyon

Pray for Mike and Caryn, ReachGlobal personnel in France, that they will continue to have good contacts with neighbors and families from their children’s schools. Pray for Caryn who is discipling a woman and seeing her grow in her faith. Pray that that these contacts and others like them would lead to discipleship and the formation of a core group to start a home group.

Pastors Wives Fellowship in Philippines

Pray for wisdom and guidance for Arlys, ReachGlobal personnel in the Philippines, as she speaks to the Crossroads EFC women's fellowship on Saturday morning, March 3, and then at the Pastors Wives Fellowship in the afternoon. Pray that God’s Spirit will communicate to the women to encourage them and help them develop more of a love relationship with God. Pray that Arlys will be able to have personal visits with several of the pastors’ wives during her time in Manila.

Mentoring students

Pray that the Lord would use Gary, ReachGlobal personnel in Lisbon, to impart a love for the Word of God to the students he teaches at the Portuguese Bible Institute. Pray also for wisdom and discernment as he mentors two students that God break down the negative strongholds in their lives.

FISHing Expedition Workshop

Pray for Steve, ReachGlobal personnel in Canada, who conducts workshops called "FISHing Expedition," a hands-on learning experience to help people better understand and apply the Bible to their lives. Pray for Steve as he works with a French-Canadian pastor to prepare for their first bilingual Montreal "Expedition" workshop on March 3.

Conference on human trafficking

Pray for Mike, ReachGlobal personnel in France, along with Hope Alliance as they co-sponsor a conference in Lyon in November to sensitize local churches to the problem of human trafficking and sex trade with the hope of developing the network on a national level. Pray for divine appointments for Mike and the team on their next outing of street visits Wednesday evening February 29.

Consulting with missionary families

Pray for Dennis, ReachGlobal personnel on the Kyiv City Team, who is consulting and testing the families attending the conference for missionary children’s education in Sopron, Hungary February 26–March 2. Following this conference, Dennis is meeting with the dean of the psychology faculty at Christian Open University of Economics and Humanitarian Sciences in Odessa, Ukraine. Pray for God’s blessing as he explores the possibility of the staff in Kiev teaching at this university, which is accredited and has a degree program in Christian counseling.

Reaching French young adults

Pray for wisdom for Jonah, ReachGlobal personnel in Lyon, France, who helps lead a Bible study for a group of English-speaking young adults. Pray that this opportunity of study will lead them deeper into the Word of God and their relationship with Him. Pray for God’s blessing on the French young adults group that meets in Jonah and Amy’s home and the new believers in this group that are eager to grow in their faith.

Café COEN in Japan

Café COEN (Connect through English) in Sapporo, Japan is a place where Mark, Athlee and their team provide a setting to connect with people so that they can connect them to Christ. Recently, another local once-a-week staff member left so that has put a heavier workload on other café workers. Pray for wisdom for the café manager as she considers asking more people to work once-a-week in exchange for free English classes. Pray that God will send the right local workers to the café so that it will continue to be a place to develop healthy connections in the community.

Translating Bible stories

Pray for the translation of Bible stories into several languages of hard-to-reach people groups that will be used in the women’s English classes in the United Kingdom. Pray that all the recordings will go well, and for God to use the project and the classes to reach many women from with the gospel.

Teaching in Cebu

Pray for Ernie, ReachGlobal personnel on the EQUIP Team, who is teaching two master’s degree classes in theology at Cebu Graduate School of Theology in the Philippines. Ask the Lord to give him stamina and effective communication during this heavy teaching load. Pray for perseverance and energy for the students who also have responsibilities of family and jobs.

Ministries in Honduras

Pray for Roberto and Robin, ReachGlobal personnel in Honduras, who are involved in leading discipleship groups and a Biblical finance class at the church. As they lead several ministry partnership meetings with groups that are involved in various types of ministries, ask God to give them discernment and wisdom. Pray for clarity and insight as they review projects that align with mission goals and seek God’s leading in the projects that will bring Him glory.

Health concern

Pray for Alyssa, ReachGlobal personnel in Tanzania, who has been having arthritic symptoms in her hands that has been debilitating for her. After consulting doctors in Tanzania with no further answers, Alyssa is looking into finding doctors in South Africa, Kenya, or the U.S. who can help her. Pray for wisdom and guidance for Alyssa and husband Mark as to the best course of action in this situation. Pray for healing, strength and peace that God may be lifted up and exalted in this experience.

Bible study for students

Pray for wisdom for Lauren, ReachGlobal personnel at Haven of Peace Academy in Tanzania, who leads a group of 12th grade girls in a Bible study on Fridays. Pray for good interaction and opportunities for significant investment in their lives as these girls start thinking toward the future.

Ministries in the Philippines

Pray for the ministries Vance and Carol, ReachGlobal personnel, are involved in the Philippines. Ask God to continue to bless the Sunday school that has an attendance of 95 children and moms. Pray for a heart change in the parents of those children not permitted to attend. Pray for Vance as he encourages and generates interest among the men to restart the men's Bible study.

Ministry partners in Ethiopia

Pray for Kevin, ReachGlobal International Leader for Africa, who is visiting ministry partners in Ethiopia. Pray that the contacts he makes will open many doors for future ministry and that God will guide him to make connections with the potential ministry partners He would have ReachGlobal work with there.

Medical mission team

Pray for Omar as he spends 10 days in Cartagena, Colombia helping a medical mission team from an EFCA church in Wisconsin minister with our Colombian partners. While the patients are being seen by the medical staff, our Colombian brethren will have the opportunity to speak to the more than 1,500 people who come through about the Lord and to pray for them. In the evenings, there will be opportunities for the doctors to give medical lectures and hands on demonstrations of  medical techniques to students and doctors at one of the local hospitals. Ask God to bless this opportunity to share the gospel to the professional community in Cartagena. Pray for open hearts on behalf of those who will be listening to the gospel and for a harmonious and unified ministry team.

Training short-term team

Pray for wisdom and clarity for Gary and Marilyn, ReachGlobal personnel with EQUIP, training a short-term team in Hastings, NE, February 10-12. They are preparing the team for English ministry in Belgium this April. Pray that the ministries of the team will be a strategic relationship-building and discipleship time. Ask God to prepare the hearts of the people the team will minister to as the seed of the gospel is planted.

ICSB basketball tournament

Pray for the International Christian School of Budapest’s basketball tournament February 9-11, that Christ would be honored in all that is done. There are several secular international schools coming and many international parents from the ICSB school community. Pray that the ICSB players and students will glorify God during this tournament and that lives will be changed as the school has seen happen in the past.

Training in Puebla, MX

Thank you for praying for the training opportunity Mark, Enrique, and Mery had in Puebla, Mexico January 2-4, at UMAD (the University of Madero). They were able to introduce 22 Mexican university professors to the basics of distance education and how to teach online. ProMETA has a partnership with UMAD and they are beginning to introduce ProMETA’s courses in their program. Pray that God would prosper this relationship and that ProMETA will receive accreditation for its program through this University’s accredited status with the Mexican government.

Student ministry in Poland

Pray for wisdom and openness for Loren and Christina, ReachGlobal personnel in Poland, as they mentor college students and build relationships with new families from their son’s school. Praise God for the growth they are seeing in the international group meeting in their home but please pray for guidance as they look for a new location with more space.

Winter REV event

Pray for the Readiness Event (REV) for missionary candidates at the EFCA national office February 4-10. Pray for the 10 candidates attending this key event who are away from their jobs, ministries, families, and responsibilities to focus and discern the Holy Spirit’s leading. Pray for physical, emotional and spiritual stamina for the attendees and ReachGlobal staff involved in REV.  

Seminar on Human Trafficking

Pray for a positive response from believers in Rome to the seminar, Confronting the Reality of Sex Trafficking, that Brian and Sarah, ReachGlobal personnel, are holding on February 4. Pray that God will use this to create awareness and to form a coalition of like-minded believers across the city and in other urban centers of Italy. Pray that Brian and Sarah will be faithful to God’s purposes revealed in His Word, rely on the Holy Spirit, and trust in the power of the gospel to transform broken lives.

Debriefing Event for RG Personnel

Today and tomorrow a group of ReachGlobal missionaries on home assignment are attending Debriefing at the national office. Ask God to give the ENHANCE Team wisdom and discernment as they listen, shoulder burdens, offer perspective, and talk through possible solutions. Pray for a time of encouragement and spiritual vitality for the missionaries as the ENHANCE Team provides care, team building and resources to help them be healthy and effective in their ministries.

Health concern

Pray for Carol, ReachGlobal personnel, who is undergoing an angiogram February 2, because of experiencing chest pains for the past two weeks. Pray for skilful hands of the medical team as the cardiologist may need to do a balloon or put in a stent. Pray for rapid and complete recovery so Carol will be well enough to travel to a region in Asia on March 2, where she is to speak at two women’s retreats.

Online course KE101

Pray for wisdom for Linda, ReachGlobal personnel with EQUIP, as she interacts and guides learners through the material in the online course Kingdom Expansion 101 (KE101).  Pray for each learner to listen to God and understand his or her part in global missions. Ask God for multiplication to take place as these participants apply what they are learning in expanding God’s kingdom.

Distance Learning

Pray for wisdom and clarity for Lois, ReachGlobal personnel in Russia, who is teaching three discipleship courses on personal and relational evangelism for the Trinity Video Seminary Distance Learning, a ministry of global and viral distribution of biblical teaching. New technology enables courses to be translated in many different languages so Lois teaches in English without someone having to translate. Ask the Holy Spirit to stir the hearts of those receiving this teaching a hunger for God’s Word.

Prague City Team ministries

Pray for unity, vision and discernment for the Prague City Team. In the months ahead, they are working together planning, networking and carrying out ministry and events within the contexts of new church plants; Roma (Gypsy) ministry; the students at the Evangelical Theological Seminary; and the Christian International School of Prague.

Youth Bible study in Czech

Ask God to give understanding and insight to the English Club students who are attending the Bible study at youth group meetings held at Rajska Zahrada Church in the Czech Republic. Pray for creativity and wisdom for Renee, ReachGlobal personnel, and Hana, a Czech music teacher, as they prepare and organize the Friday night meetings, and disciple the teens who attend.

Ministry in Lisbon

Pray for Jonathan, ReachGlobal personnel in Portugal, and Ricardo, his church plant partner, that God would give them wisdom and discernment as to the right strategy and methods they need to pursue for moving the church forward in growth and outreach.  Pray for the Lisbon City Team planning meetings as they seek the Lord’s vision and guidance for ministry and the specific role each one will have.

Discovery Bible study

Pray for Aaron, ReachGlobal personnel serving in a creative access area of Europe, as he leads a family in his city and men in two other villages through a discovery Bible study. Pray that as they read and discuss Scripture they will discover who God is and how He has revealed Himself in Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to transform them by His Word so they will be obedient to it and share what they are learning with their family and friends.

Team-building via skype

Pray for Lois, director of the ENHANCE (member care) Team, as she ministers to missionaries through the internet. Today, she is leading a team-building discussion with the Africa Equipping Team via skype. Pray for clear communication and connections as she hosts a webinar tomorrow for ReachGlobal personnel on the topic of Personal Crisis Preparation.

Video production in Latin America

Pray for God's blessing on four video producers and two photographers going to four different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean for a video mission trip January 21-February 4. After shooting video of interviews, ministry footage, and city footage on location, the producers will meet in Costa Rica to produce five promotional videos for ReachGlobal Latin America. Pray for the team’s travel, health, and for strategic opportunities to capture the essence of ministry and the work God is doing in Latin America.

Ministry in CAC

Ask the Lord to bless Tony, ReachGlobal personnel, serving as the pastor of International Church in a creative access area of Asia. Pray for wisdom and clarity as he leads a discipleship group and preaches in the country’s language. Tony is also leading a Bible study with Iranian immigrants so pray for understanding and hunger for God’s Word to take hold in their lives.

EQUIP course on missions

Pray for Linda, ReachGlobal personnel on the EQUIP Team, as she facilitates the course Kingdom Expansion 101 from January 18-March 6. Pray for understanding and insight for the participants as they learn more about missions and interact with one another. Strategic meetings in Asia

Pray for Mark and Jan, ReachGlobal personnel, as they travel to Bangladesh and India January 12-30. They will be meeting with field missionaries and local church partners working among hard-to-reach people groups. Under the guidance of ReachGlobal leadership, they are in touch with like-minded mission agencies with whom they could possibly work. Pray that they will identify a good fit for their gifts and experience, and that God will continue to use them to reach Asians for Christ.

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

Today, January 11, has been designated by President Obama and Congress as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Pray for an increasing awareness of human trafficking and a growing passion by followers of Christ everywhere to address the issues of human trafficking globally.

Men's group in Japan

Pray for Duane, ReachGlobal personnel in Japan, as he prepares to host a men's group from Fukuoka EFC at his apartment on January 14. Ask the Holy Spirit to help them gain deeper understanding of their faith as they study God’s Word and spend time in prayer. Pray that the Lord will replenish this group with new people as a result of many returning to their home countries.

Pray for God's provision and encouragement for ReachGlobal personnel and their families concerning their support needs. Pray for good health, safety and the Lord’s protection for Ben and his family, ReachGlobal personnel in Asia. Pray for wisdom and open doors for Ben who travels to neighboring creative access countries to train leaders. Ask God to provide the funds needed to pay for the land that the Hmong Bible School purchased to build on and is a project in partnership with the Hmong believers in Thailand.

Teams in Congo

Pray for the two teams going to Congo this month. One will focus on the development of a well drilling team and the other is gathering information on needs at the hospital and ministering to and training pastors and leaders in the church. Pray for God to orchestrate all of the preparations and details of these trips for His glory.

Latin America Area Conference

Pray for ReachGlobal Latin America/Caribbean personnel and leaders from the Minneapolis national office meeting in Florida for the Latin America Area Conference January 5-12. Pray for sensitivity to the Spirit, wisdom, and insight as they share and encourage one another in the ministry. Ask the Lord’s blessing on the team from Lincoln, NE, conducting the children’s program and for good health for everyone.

Church plant in Madrid

Pray for Sam and Jill, ReachGlobal personnel in Spain, as they work with the church plant in Madrid. Ask the Spirit to give them grace and strength in all they do serving Him and bringing the gospel to those who do not know Him personally. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they consider hosting a weekly home group meeting for the next six months. Pray for patience and grace as the church goes through bureaucratic details to be recognized by the government as an official religious entity.

Discipleship groups in Tanzania

Pray for the first year students who are in Steve and Carol’s discipleship groups in Tanzania. Pray for quality time with these students and ask the Lord to give Steve and Carol wisdom and discernment when answering the students’ questions. Pray that nothing will block the students understanding of the gospel.

Somali refugees in Kenya

Pray for ReachGlobal partners in Africa working with the Somali refugees in northern Kenya as they plan to launch another phase of response in January, with more training and less direct food distribution. Ask the Lord to allow them many opportunities to reach into the hearts of these displaced people, so that they would find refuge in God, the True Giver of life.
